DISCIPLESHIP AND PATRIOTISM
Christian Discipleship
Instruction in Biblical knowledge and Christian discipleship is a core component of the daily routine at Word of Faith Academy, as Principles of the Christian Faith are taught daily. In addition to this daily lesson based upon the oracles of God, each Wednesday morning, from 8:10-8:50 a.m., students are expected to attend and actively participate in Chapel. Students are expected to exemplify the Christian
principles learned through daily teaching and
Chapel in their daily lives.
As a continued part of Christian discipleship, students are expected to exemplify patriotism to their country and are required to participate in flag ceremonies, The Pledge of Allegiance, the singing of The Star-spangled Banner, and Pledge to the Christian Flag.
Life and Leadership Skills
Everything that is done at Word of Faith Academy must line up with the overall vision and mission for this school. The school's overall mission is to produce leaders in an ever-changing, global society. As a direct correlation to this mission, the following have been incorporated:
1. Character Education
Word of Faith has adopted Character Counts, a character education curriculum, developed and published by Schools on the Move, and is based nine Christian principles that are found in the Word of God. This curriculum emphasizes one positive character trait each month.
2. Health and Physical Education
Students at Word of Faith Academy are taught how to properly care for the temple
of God in which He dwells, our bodies, through direct instruction and physical education. Students spend time daily in exercise and structured physical activities. The physical education program used includes the Peaceful Playgrounds curriculum. Concepts taught through health and physical education include hygiene, nutrition, and physical fitness.
3. Public Speaking
Students are given daily opportunities to practice the art of speaking, formally and informally, through discussions, public speeches, and performances.
4. Business and Finance
Students are introduced to successful entrepreneurs monthly and are taught principles of stewardship.
5. Current Events and Global Awareness
Students participate in weekly discussions of current events.
