Individualized Instruction

It has been said that the greatest form of discrimination is to treat everyone the same. Research indicates that children have different styles, capabilities, and rates of learning. To this end, Word of Faith Academy's personnel prides itself in accommodating the individual needs of each learner. Within each subject area, students have opportunities to receive instruction aurally, visually, and kinesthetically. Additionally, there is teacher-directed instruction, which includes whole-group, conceptual instruction, collaborative learning, small-group instruction, individual helps, guided practice, and independent work time.

Each child will receive a diagnostic assessment before entrance. Data collected from this assessment provides details concerning each child's strengths, interests, and areas of need. All programmatic decisions are based upon data collected from initial and on-going assessments. Using a collection of all pertinent data, each child will receive an Individualized Plan for Acceleration, which is shared with parents in an on-going fashion. Continual assessments are conducted in order to gather data about progress and needs so that these issues can be properly monitored and appropriate instructional decisions that heighten students' success rates can be made.

Word of Faith Academy will seek to fully include parents, teachers, and the students in programmatic matters; however, it is important to note that the final decisions regarding program placements are the decision of the administrator.
