Welcome to our Ministries page. Please see below to get more detailed information on each area or department here at Word of Faith Hattiesburg. If you have more questions, feel free to call the church office at 601-602-6706. Thank you!
The Outreach Ministry focuses on the last, but most important part of the mission statement at WOF Hattiesburg: “Reaching the World for Jesus!” The heart of this area is evangelism, thus “making disciples of all nations“ and fulfilling the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19-19. We do this by reaching out to individuals who do not know Christ by sharing the good news of the gospel and leading them into salvation, discipleship, and fellowship with God’s family.
Faith Kids is our fun, interactive Children’s Ministry designed to meet the spiritual and social needs of kids ranging from 3 months to 11 years old. Our energetic, yet applicable lessons keep our participants on the edge of their seats, anticipating the next service! We desire to provide children with a solid foundation of the word of God upon which they can build and in turn, encourage others to do the same. The environment of Faith Kids is safe, clean, friendly, and puts the minds of parents/guardians at ease. Classes are separated by age group and into Faith Kids categories:
– Faith Kids Babies and Scouts (3 months to 3 1/2 years old)
– Faith Kids Cadets (4 years to 6 years old),
– Faith Kids Rangers (7 years to 11 years old).
Though living a lifestyle that glorifies God in your spirit, soul, and body can be much of a challenge to an average college student, Generation 6:20 is the place to come and learn how to do just that! This campus ministry aims to help young adults navigate their way through this crazy world through weekly meetings held on the University of Southern Mississippi’s campus. The Word of God is real and extremely relevant, despite what pop culture says. In each life-application session, we desire for our mission to be accomplished: “Teaching the Word, Doing the Work, and Touching the Lives of today’s college students!”
Couples in Covenant
Couples in Covenant is a ministry dedicated to helping couples experience the heavenly bliss that God intended for the marital union to be. Marriage is about two people who are complete in Christ coming together to serve God together and follow His purpose for their lives. This ministry provides counseling, group sessions, and events throughout the year and as the Holy Spirit leads.
Women of Virtue
The Women of Virtue is a ministry designed to empower every-day women to walk in victory no matter what their station is in life. This ministry shows a woman her true value, beauty, strength, intelligence, and talents. She’s truly worth more than rubies, diamonds, and any other treasure found on the planet. You don’t have to be a superwoman, you just have to be strong enough to completely depend on Jesus. WOV is here to show you how to become that!
Men of Valor
Men of Valor is a ministry dedicated to raising up generations of strong, God-fearing men, who will lead their households like Abraham in Genesis 18:19: “For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.” MOV most notably holds a Father, Son , Big Brother breakfast every year.
Faith Food Bookstore
The Faith Food Bookstore is our store and the place to pick up anything WOF Hattiesburg related. Sermon CDs, DVDs, Christian reading materials and literature, apparel and other items can be found in this area which is open for 30 minutes before and after each service. All items available will aide and enhance spiritual growth and personal development.
Clerks & SEC
The Clerk Department serves as the source of accurately recorded information for all acquired members, new and old. They also provide the Pastors, ministerial staff, and other departments with the appropriate paperwork and clerical support needed to carry out their duties in excellence. This department works very closely with the Communication Department to coordinate and put together information for print and digital media materials.
The Social Events Calendar (SEC) is responsible for distributing tickets for special events and handling signups for special activities and events throughout the year. They work closely with the Clerk Department.
Ushers and Greeters
The people in this department are first and foremost, the keepers of the House. Our friendly personnel welcome each visitor and member as they come through the sanctuary doors and assist in the control of traffic from the lobby, coffee shop, and children’s ministry into the sanctuary. Ushers and Greeters are always on the look out for any potential distraction during service and if there are any, they are handled in a swift and quiet manner without causing further disruptions. These men and women work as a team to ensure that the Holy Spirit is able to flow freely throughout service.
The Communication Department is dedicated to producing and maintaining all video, audio, digital, print, and marketing elements surrounding WOF Hattiesburg. Our Media, Graphic Design, Marketing, and Social Media teams work cohesively to produce video announcements, print ads, web content, commercials and promotional items.
Since opening in 2014, The Good Grounds Coffee Shop has provided refreshments for members and patrons before and after each service at Word of Faith Hattiesburg. Some items available include cookies, a variety of chips, water, apple cider, various coffees, and tea. The staff in this area love to get creative by crafting specialty drinks and decorating the shop, especially around holidays. Gift cards are available on your next visit to Good Grounds.
The parking lot attendants are probably the first smiling faces you will see at Word of Faith Hattiesburg! They help to keep the traffic rolling up to church flowing smoothly.
The nursing home team is a tight-knit group of members who visit various elderly patient care facilities to show the love of God to those living in their latter years. We believe that everyone should experience unconditional love, including senior citizens and those without families, so we go and spend time with them. The team also makes a point to do special things on holidays such as buying gifts for residents and singing Christmas carols to them.
What better place to keep neat and tidy than the house of the Lord? We take it very seriously that God has blessed us with such wonderful facilities and one way we thank Him for it is by keeping the place up! Our K.L.E.E.N Ministry cleans up on Tuesdays at 6:00 PM CST and Saturdays at 9:30 AM CST. K.L.E.E.N. stand for “Keeping the Lords Environment Extremely Neat.” If you are interested in volunteering, please call the church office at 601-544-7007.
